ISS Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor on behalf of an established client based in the Athy area, Co. Kildare.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced warehouse professional to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of a busy distribution environment. The successful candidate will oversee warehouse operations, inventory control and team performance while identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs and maintain a safe and efficient working environment.

The role would suit someone with strong warehouse and people-management experience who enjoys taking ownership of operations and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day running of warehouse and distribution operations.

  • Manage all inbound and outbound stock movements, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.

  • Monitor incoming and outgoing orders and maintain clear visibility of warehouse activity.

  • Manage inventory levels and investigate any stock discrepancies or adjustments.

  • Identify slow-moving stock and support effective inventory management.

  • Ensure ERP and warehouse management systems are maintained with accurate and up-to-date information.

  • Liaise with transport providers and carriers to ensure reliable and timely deliveries.

  • Supervise, support and develop warehouse employees, identifying training and development requirements.

  • Promote a positive, accountable and high-performing team environment.

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.

  • Lead continuous improvement and lean initiatives across warehouse operations.

  • Review warehouse layout and product flow and recommend improvements or equipment upgrades where appropriate.

  • Maintain high standards of health & safety, housekeeping and compliance.

  • Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth communication and operational performance.

  • Monitor and report on key warehouse KPIs including inventory accuracy, order fulfilment, carrier performance and cost savings.

  • Support customer order fulfilment and resolve operational or delivery issues as required.

  • Assist with and lead operational change initiatives as the business continues to develop.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within warehouse/distribution operations, ideally including supervisory or team leadership responsibility.

  • Proven experience managing and developing warehouse teams.

  • Strong inventory and stock-control experience.

  • Experience working with ERP and/or Warehouse Management Systems.

  • Good understanding of lean processes, continuous improvement and warehouse efficiencies.

  • Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills.

  • Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively across different departments.

  • Strong focus on health & safety and operational standards.

  • Commercially aware with an interest in reducing costs and improving processes.

  • Proactive, organised and comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day warehouse operations.

Package

  • Salary from €48,000 + per annum

  • Negotiable depending on experience

  • Permanent, full-time position
