A well-established food manufacturing company based in Naas, Co. Kildare is currently seeking a Specification Technologist to join its Technical & Innovation team.

This role is ideal for a detail-focused food science professional with experience in specifications, labelling and customer compliance within a manufacturing environment.

The Role:

Reporting to the NPI / Technical Compliance function, the Specification Technologist will be responsible for completing and maintaining accurate customer and internal product specifications, while supporting new product introductions and ongoing compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete customer specifications accurately and within agreed timelines

  • Liaise with suppliers and procurement to ensure raw material compliance

  • Act as a technical point of contact for specification-related queries

  • Support new product launches to ensure products are safe, legal and compliant

  • Generate product information sheets for new and updated products

  • Calculate nutritional values and assess nutrition and allergen claims

  • Review and approve labels and pack copy in line with current legislation

  • Manage customer artwork approvals

  • Maintain internal specification systems and trackers

  • Participate in sensory analysis as required

  • Support continuous improvement projects within Technical / NPD

Requirements:

  • Third-level degree in Food Science, Culinary Science, Science or related discipline

  • Knowledge of HACCP, food legislation and labelling requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to work on own initiative and manage multiple deadlines

  • Experience in a specifications or technical role within food manufacturing desirable
